First Snowfall of Fall '05.

The morning of October 23rd, I woke up and had enough sleep. It was 8am and I was laying in bed looking at the window. I noticed something weird, it was a little brighter, notice something white on pine trees, and the roof was dripping water. The sun was trying to break through the clouds. I got out of bed quick and looked out the window, there was snow all over the yard, I checked the backyard and it was really snow. I thought to myself, it is October 23rd, I do not think I have seen snow that early. Before I went out around noon, the snow was gone.

Later during the day, I asked my friends from work and they said, "Snow!?" I said "Yea, there was snow on the grass this morning." They did not even see snow yet this year. I sat down and thinking why they did not get snow and realized I live higher from the ground and kind of on the mountain. That explains! It has gotten really cold and in the early 40's during the day.

It definitely will be a long winter in Vermont! They are calling for snow on Wednesday around the mountains (2-4 inches). We'll see if snow will land on our yard. :)

Deer in Sight :)

Lauren and I have been told we will see deers in the front yard or back yard. We went over next door to see the landlord (they are rarely here). We chatted then the landlord told us there was a deer and fawn out in the backyard eating. We stood the sliding door and watched them eat. The fawn was not very far from us and was cute. After visiting the landlord, we went back to our home and took pictures of the mother and fawn. Again, I still can't find my digital camera battery charger! The pictures was taken by Lauren and need to be developed. If I am able to scan it and will attach it on blog, soon I hope! :) Ever since, we haven't seen any deers and hopefully we will see some again soon.

Rain Rain, GO AWAY!

What's wrong with the weather around New England, New York, and New Jersey!

Last weekend, New Hampshire declared State of Emergency for southern part of N.H.! When I got to work on Tuesday, I was reading the Brattleboro Reformer newspaper and the terrible flood in NH with many people missing. It was been raining all week and total of 8 days straight of heavy rain. It was coming off the Atlantic Ocean and spreading all over New England.

Today, I went on bus duty to Burlington, VT and the weather was really awful with heavy rain at all times, but Burlington was fine. Recently on T.V. they have declared a mandatory evacuation in Keene (40 mins away from me) for 1,300 people and expecting more. What's wrong with the mother nature for the past 8 days.

The rain is suppose to last until Sunday (total of 10 days) and expecting more rain later this week. Right now, I am dealing with roof leak in the loft (attic) and there is 4 cups in place. Right now, I see another one coming and I have to get another cup after I post this on my blog.

Canada Thanksgiving Weekend!

It has been 10 months I last visited my family in Canada! Lauren and I departed Thurs night right after work on Thursday night. I had to pull over to get some sleep at the rest area for a while then finally arrived to Sarnia around noon. My dad was surprised because he did not expect us to arrive that early. We went to meet mom at work and met her in the office. She was really surprised and was very happy! Heather came home around 2pm and chatted for a bit and I had to get some sleep. Mom went out to get me stuff for the house and cooked a good dinner! It was so good and was so full! Dad, Lauren, and I went to a hockey game and met my grandparents there.

Saturday, Jenn came home from London and chatted for a while. My neighbours came over for a short visit then the grandparents, uncle/aunt, and cousins came by for Thanksgiving dinner. Another delicious dinner and was so full! Lauren, Jenn, and I went out to Don Cherry for couple of drinks. Heather met us there and I wasn't used in seeing her at a bar, she is legal age to drink now! Jeez!

Sunday, poor grandma had to go to the hospital for x-rays. She was feeling a lot of pain around her hip after the fell 2 weeks ago. The x-ray result turned out to be a crack and there is nothing the doctor can do for now. We dropped her off and returned home. We had another good leftover dinner and dad and I went to see the last period of a hockey game. Overall, Sunday was the busiest day for me!

Monday morning, my grandparents came by for breakfast then Lauren and I packed the jeep. We brought a lot of things my mom gave us for our new place and craps too. :) We headed for London to see Jenn then headed for Vermont. The trip went good and missed home already.

We can't wait to come back for Christmas!

Boston Red Sox Fans

Boston Red Sox fans are very WILD! Living in Massachusetts for the last two years, I have seen Red Sox fans going through a lot! The first year was the 2003 ALCS (American League Championship Series) against the New York Yankees when Boones hitted a HUGE homerun off Tim Wakefield and won the series 4-3 against the Red Sox.

The 2004 season, the Red Sox and the fans still believed they can win! They played the Yankees again in the 2004 ALCS and the Yankees were up 3-0 lead in the series. Somehow, the Red Sox were able to win the series 4-3. The fans throughout the New England were really WILD with screaming, partying, crying, etc... They won the World Series Championship. I believe the Red Sox fans are the best in baseball!!

This year, it has been a wild season! I went to two games in April and the fans were wild and noisy. All through the season, it was sold out and impossible to get tickets at Fenway Park. We saw the Red Sox battling for first place with Baltimore Orioles and the Yankees were lousy! Boston were able to lead the American East Division all through the baseball season. Seven weeks left of the season, the Yankees played so hard, just like they were in the playoff mode. They came and tied with Boston for first place. Last weekend, I went to Boston and saw some old friends who were so obsessed with frustrated with the Red Sox. The Yankees won the division title on Saturday, the fans in Boston were very disappointed. I don't blame them because I have always hated the Yankees! On Sunday, they won the Wild Card race and able to eliminate Yankees home field advantage throughout the playoffs.

Tuesday, the Red Sox plays Chicago White Sox and it will be a hot series (3 out of 5). The Yankees plays against Los Angeles Angels. We will see how they do throughout the playoffs starting tomorrow afternoon.

Harpoon Festival!

Lauren and I finally went to Harpoon Festival "Octoberfest" in Boston for the first time! We drove to meet Heather, Alejo then took the train to Boston. When we arrived, they were smart enough to provide shuttle buses to the festival *whew*. The Harpoon Festival was at the beer factory. It cost $12 to get in and they give out free plastic cups to use and to keep it as a souvenir. I bought 5 tokens = 5 yummy beers! There were plenty of choices and was so fresh and delicious! It was chilly that night and I had to force myself to buy a ski hat bc my hair is short. When the festival ended, we went to White Horse Bar, not far from Fenway Park. It was packed because the New York Yankees were in town to race for the division champion against the Red Sox. I had several beers and I was drunk! I haven't drank much lately. It was a lot of fun and definitely coming back to the next festival in the spring.

Lauren and I stayed at Heather's in Natick for the night. The next morning, we all were so exhausted and were airheads. We decided to stay longer and chill with Heather watching tv and baseball. Finally, Lauren and I had the energy to leave for dinner at Chef Orient with Alejo then and headed back to Brattleboro. When we arrived back, were were so exhausted and went right to sleep. Thank you Heather for letting us stay overnight. :P

I hope to get some pictures from the festival. :) Harpoon Brewery information, click on Harpoon Festival! (above)
